Frequently asked questions
Is DriveBeats really free?
Yes, completely free. There are no premium tiers, no ads, and no usage limits.
Can you see or modify my files?
No. We request read-only access to list and stream your files. We cannot modify, delete, or share anything in your Drive. You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account settings.
What Google scopes does DriveBeats require, and why?
DriveBeats requests https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.readonly so it can list folders and stream your MP3 files. It also requests openid, userinfo.email, and userinfo.profile so the app can identify which Google account is signed in and show that account in the app. No write scopes are requested, which means DriveBeats cannot edit, move, delete, or share anything in your Drive.
What file formats are supported?
Currently MP3 files are supported. Place them anywhere in your Google Drive and browse to them using the folder navigator.
Do my files get downloaded or stored on your servers?
No. DriveBeats is client-side for browsing and playback. Your files stream from Google Drive to your browser and are not stored or re-hosted by us.
How do I remove access?
Visit your Google Account permissions page and revoke access for DriveBeats.
